Education and sweat equity - these have been the focus here at Laura Kesler Photography this week!
Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to connect with some phenomenal photographers and business educators who are granting me the opportunity to learn and work with them.
Here are a few of this week's highlights:
First - I have been attending small business start-up workshops over the past few weeks, and yesterday attended my first 1 Million Cups meeting. The concepts I have been learning at these workshops and meetings have been invaluable. I want to give a big shout-out to the business leaders and mentors who run Fayetteville Technical Community College's Small Business Center. Thank you for facilitating these types of events and for creating a supportive network for new small business owners like myself!!
Second - this afternoon, I will be meeting with with the Central Director of the Professional Photographers of North Carolina (PPOFNC), George Joell. George is a seasoned photographer and the owner of George Joell 3 Photography. Looking forward to getting to know him and to receiving any feedback he may provide regarding my path ahead as a photographer. Also looking forward to attending an upcoming PPOFNC photography event at his studio next week!
Third - I had the great fortune this week of connecting with pro photographer and fellow PPOFNC member Amy Matthews, of Amy Matthews Photography. I will be serving as one of her second shooters at a wedding in early October. It will be my first time photographing as a second shooter and my first time professionally photographing a wedding. I am excited to be able to work with Amy, and extremely grateful to her for granting me the opportunity to do so!
Lots of exciting growth taking place at Laura Kesler Photography!!
Until next time -
