Today's featured business is Truffles Cakery.  Its owner, Stephanie Floth, creates exquisitely beautiful, magical, breathtaking cakes and cupcakes for weddings, events, companies, and brands.

I first met Stephanie at the 2018 South Sound Wedding Show in Lacey, Washington.  Her booth was down the aisle from mine, and I was so taken by the cakes she displayed that I made time to stop by, look, and visit several times throughout the day.

For those who may not be familiar with Truffles Cakery, be prepared to be amazed by cakes that are not only delicious (moist, flavorful, and with a delightful texture) but also creatively, artistically, and beautifully designed and decorated.  I have had the chance to sample Stephanie's work several times and have always been impressed by its consistent high quality.

After getting to know each other better, I asked Stephanie if I could come see her creative space/kitchen (which is licensed and permitted as required by state and local authorities), as I have never seen a cake artist's work space before.  Stephanie graciously permitted me to come for a visit and to explore the place where all the magic happens!

During our visit, Stephanie shared some of her creative process and techniques with me, and described the long, delicate workflow that is involved in creating her elegant and intricate cake art.  It is a labor intensive process that requires lots of planning and attention to detail.  For Stephanie, it is a labor of love.

Although she has been designing and creating beautiful cakes for decades, Stephanie also worked for years in the optometry field.  Two years ago, she decided to make cake artistry her full-time profession, and in that time, her business and clientele has grown - as has her recognition by a variety of local and national organizations.

One thing that stood out to me was how much thought Stephanie puts into creating cakes that not only appeal to those getting married, but also to those who want gorgeous cakes (and/or cupcakes) for non-wedding related events and celebrations.  Stephanie incorporates elements of fantasy and whimsy into many of her cakes, as seen in the hobbit house cake below.

Upon request, Stephanie incorporates jewel-like sparkles and even edible gold flakes into some of her work.  The cakes below illustrate how she uses unique and high-end ingredients and enhancements to create cake art masterpieces.

Stephanie also incorporates ombre effects, color gradients, and themes with personal meaning into custom cake art for her clients. Two such cakes are shown below - but she has many, many more examples of client work on the Truffles Cakery Facebook page and website.

Towards the end of my visit, Stephanie surprised me with my very own Laura Kesler Photography cake, complete with my logo and gorgeous fresh flowers on top and alongside.  She had clearly examined my brand and my work, and matched it perfectly in the cake with the same clean, light look that I strive for in my imagery.  On the outside was a delectable cream cheese frosting, and on the inside was moist, delicious spice cake.  I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to cut into it for a good 24 hours.  I finally broke down and experienced its deliciousness.  SO GOOD!!!  =)

If you are looking for a cake artist for your wedding, corporate or business event, family celebration or other special occasion, consider Truffles Cakery.  From classic to fantastic, Stephanie's creative vision and experience level spans many styles and designs.

Truffles Cakery serves and delivers to locations throughout the pacific northwest, and Stephanie has experience in creating not only simple, elegant creations but also detailed, intricate creations that may take 40 hours or more to finish.
